TRUST BEHAVIORAL RELATIONSHIP INTERVENTION

TBRI

TBRI- Trust behavior relationship intervention

TBRI also known as Trust Behavior Relationship Intervention is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI is connection.  TBRI is designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced adversity, early harm, toxic stress, and/or trauma.

“When you connect to the heart of a child, everything is possible.”

TBRI aims to build trust, connection for children who have experienced through three core principles:

  • Connecting Principles: Create connections that disarm fear, gain trust, and enhance learning.

Everyone!

TBRI is especially beneficial for:

  • Children and youth who have experienced:
    • Trauma (abuse, neglect, loss)
    • Foster care or adoption
    • Attachment disruptions
    • Early childhood adversity (ACES)

  • Caregivers and families, including:
    • Foster and adoptive parents
    • Biological parents working to rebuild trust
    • Educators, counselors, or residential staff supporting children with complex needs

TBRI is a compassionate, relationship-focused approach that helps children heal from trauma by meeting their physical and emotional needs, building secure connections, and teaching healthy behaviors. During sessions, I work closely with children and caregivers using soothing activities, warm engagement, and positive guidance to promote safety, trust, and growth.
