Developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center, SPACE aims to treat children and adolescents with anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Caregivers who participate in SPACE will learn skills and tools to help their child overcome anxiety, OCD or related problems.

SPACE is a parent-based counseling program that focuses on working directly with caregivers, rather than the child, to help reduce childhood anxiety. In counseling, therapists guide parents through strategies to support their child’s emotional growth while managing anxiety-related behaviors at home.
Yes, it can. Sometimes the child may refuse counseling thus, caregivers often focus on their parenting that is directly influencing experienced anxiety in their children.
During your first session I will ask the caregiver questions regarding your child's behavior, symptoms and concerns you may have. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process.
